Every Stayoa account gets its own free subdomain. It is the public web address of your booking site and works from day one — no domain purchase, no DNS setup, no certificate to install.
Address Format
Your default address follows the schema your-name.stayoa.app.
You pick the first part (your-name) yourself. It is the same for your whole account: all properties you publish are reachable under this one address.
SSL encryption is set up automatically for your subdomain. Guests always reach your booking site over a secure connection.
Changing Your Subdomain
Open the setting
Go to Settings → Workspace. The Subdomain field shows your current address.
Enter the new name
Type the name you want. Only the part before .stayoa.app is yours to choose.
Save
Save the change. If the name is still free and follows the naming rules, it takes effect immediately — your booking site is reachable under the new address right away, with HTTPS already in place.
If the name is already in use by another host, or contains characters that are not allowed, saving fails with a message explaining why. Nothing changes until a valid name is saved, so you can simply try another one.
Naming Rules
- Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only — no spaces, no umlauts or accents, no dots, no underscores, no capital letters
- Start and end with a letter or number — a name may not begin or end with a hyphen
- Keep it short — up to 30 characters
- Must be unique — every subdomain can only exist once across all Stayoa accounts, so a name another host already took is unavailable
- Some names are reserved — general-purpose names such as
www,app,api,admin,docs,blog,support,helporstatusare held back by Stayoa and cannot be chosen
Good choices: your property or business name, written out plainly — for example villa-bellavista, chalet-arosa or haus-seeblick.
Your subdomain ends up in emails, on invoices, in your social profiles and in conversations with guests. A short, readable name that matches your property name is easier to remember and to spell than an abbreviation.
What Happens to Old Links
Changing your subdomain replaces your old address — it does not keep it alongside the new one.
- The old address stops working. Anything pointing at it — bookmarks, links in older emails, a link in your social media bio, a QR code on printed material, a listing on a partner site — will no longer reach your booking site.
- The old name becomes available again. Once you release it, another host can claim it, so you cannot count on getting it back later.
- Existing bookings are not affected. Bookings, payments and guest data stay exactly as they are. Only the web address changes.
Choose your subdomain carefully at the start and change it as rarely as possible. If you do change it, plan to update every place you have published the old address — website links, social profiles, email signature, printed material and any partner listings.
Your Own Domain
